we know where the music's playing, let's go out and feel the night
paul and neil, rocking out as only two men older than my parents can.
well the bridge school benefit show was quite the time indeed this weekend. if you were there, you are a lucky little duck. if not... well where the hell were you?
we missed the first act--tegan and sarah... whatever, a couple of sisters with pretty voices could NEVER beat the amazing time we had getting lost on the way there. i mean really, you have to love how confusing street signs are in palo alto. at least in berkeley when you're lost, it's usually because there is no sign. which i think shows a certain degree of character.
so we got there in time to miss eddie veder (aww) and catch los lonely boys (boo). but the night really began with ben harper, who surprised me and was pretty cool. then came the chili peppers, who i don't care that much about, but who were fun to watch, although the set started off a little shakily. tony bennet was next, which meant a bathroom break for me. but damn, for his age, that man has really got it together. i should be so lucky.
at last at last came neil young. it was actually his second set, cos he opened the show. he was awesome and played harvest moon among other things, and fun was had by all. just when we were getting anxious that mccartney wasn't going to show (neil usually finished things up and it was almost midnight), out he came. he opened with "drive my car," next came "til there was you." i can't remember everything he did, but included in an hour long set was "here today," some new song, "yesterday," "blackbird," "get back," and "hey jude" as the closer. i was blown away with how good his voice sounded, and his charm got the crowd going, as to be expected. all in all, it was a great show--even if we did sit in the rain for 8 hours and run the risk of pneumonia.

Tegan and Sarah are actually one of the better lesbian music acts. They aren't as cool as Ben Harper though.
Pure sex, that show.
...let it be, and let it be Kerry!

yeah tegan and sarah are cool, but who cares about them when neil young and paul mccartney are going to share a stage.
haha let it be kerry indeed. i love it when the british get into our politics, it's sort of refreshing. (or maybe it's just the accent i like. eh, either way.)
